Taking a tattoo from a friend - how do I approach with the design?

Been meaning to take new ink for a few years now, and two months ago finally decided what I wanted. Just a flock of birds on my sleeve. Actually seven. Birds, that is.I have a friend who does tattoos professionally, whom I'll probably ask to make the tattoo. (She's pretty booked, but I trust her quality and would like to employ my friend anyway.) What bothers me is the design of the tattoo. I'm afraid that if I ask her to design it, I might be like "ehmmm, that's not quite what I was looking for". So I'd want to avoid the vicious cycle of re-design etc, even though it's a pretty simple piece/minimalistic design what I have in mind. However, I don't really want to take the tattoo from somebody else, cause I'm afraid of her reaction "so you decided to take a tattoo then, huh?" but not utilizing her services because we're friends. Also, do you think it's insulting to an artist if go in with a ready design and just ask her to print it?Should I just show some examples bird silhouettes from Google Images and point out things I like and what I don't and use that as a basis?Good examples:Really like the birds here, but I'm looking for a piece where some of the birds are bigger, closer and more in detail, where as some are just a small outlines far away https://ift.tt/2mTGUO4 some decent far away birdshttps://thumbs.dreamstime.com/b/silhouette-flock-birds-white-background-110749816.jpgGood looking big birdy herehttp://getdrawings.com/img/silhouette-sparrow-14.jpgBad examples:Rorschach test ink blots or birds? https://ift.tt/2AhsSz2 cluttered flock, doesn't look natural https://ift.tt/2mUgOdI https://ift.tt/2NOYyh6
