Wondering if Japanese sleeve would work with current tattoos

So basically, I really want a Japanese sleeve and I already contacted an artist. The issue is that I already have a tattoo on the arm that I want sleeved, so I was wondering if you guys think it would be possible to make it work? I showed the artist that I'm going to some pictures and she said it should be okay, but she'll have to see in person to make sure. The consultation isn't until September and it's killing me worrying about whether it'll work or not. The tattoo(s) is black and white and isn't anything crazy, so I think it should work but I just want your opinions. Sorry that this seems like a dumb post but the wait sucks.
