Is it possible to just do a patch of color as a tattoo?

I’m a person who is very visually oriented, and I’ve always loved colors. I don’t really know how to describe it other than that; I just love the variation and subtlety in color, of all kinds. If two colors clash, I’m repelled immediately.That said: I was wondering if it would be feasible/possible to just get a patch of a shade, kinda like someone just caught me with a paintbrush accidentally.
